Another Apology...

Here it goes, another apology to whomever is reading this--probably no one, so then to myself for being so inconsistent yet again.

I guess I can blame it on school... I do blame it on school. This semester has been rough, because I am taking all upper level classes this semester and have zero time to blog. And let's not even being to talk about my classes for next semester.... remember my evil professor for advanced comp? Yeah, she will be my professor again next semester. Kill me.

I will try to post pictures later today of what I've been doing the past couple of months if I am free.
But hallelujah, I will be going home early next Friday for Thanksgiving break.

Wake Me Up When September Ends...

And to which no one did this morning. I've been so busy with school that I have not written any posts in such a long while, so excuse me for that!

I've been reading and reading and actually reading for my college literature classes for one in my life, unlike past semesters when I just briefed them through.

That's all I can write for now since I have to prepare for my presentation for American lit tomorrow, and watch Mean Girls for film, and read Shakespeare for brit lit, oh and study for my world civ test and start writing a paper due Friday, oh and then last and least... study for a quiz and a test by the end of the week for criminal justice, oh wait, one more, and my internship!!!!!!!

September blues...

I've been in school for about a week. In that time, I've been busy. Super busy. So busy that I'm typing this post on my phone as I sit on the toilet. (tmi, sorry.)

Let's take a brief overview of my classes...

American lit 1: torture but tolerable
World civ: tolerable but professor has too many expecting for a 1000 level class (yes I have to take a 1000 level class to fulfill the need of my minor)
Brit lit 1: tolerable... I actually enjoy it
Film: MY FAVORITE
Criminal justice: eh
Internship: LOVE.

Okay, that's just a quick little update. I will go into detail once the stress hits and I need to vent about it.

But let's take a second to appreciate my cute theme I have established on my insta feed over the last week or so since moving back to Arkansas.

It's almost that time

Thank you, Jesus. The week has finally come. I am going back home to Arkansas for school this sunday! I work M-f this week, stop by the DPS on friday, celebrate my sisters birthday and off I go.

(Terrible grammar and punctuation due to posting this from my new phone. See photo.)

5 Second Thoughts

You know you're old when you get excited about your plant growing. I bought this aloe plant at Lowe's and it was literally a babh, and now I'll need to repot her. Just some thoughts...

And how is it already August??

Dog Sitting

Like I said in a post a couple of days ago, I am dog-sitting for my cousin. I'm staying at her place and watching her two fur babies while she's on a road trip.

This is Boomer. He doesn't like to share his toys, but he is the sweetest. He follows me everywhere and insists on sitting right next to me. He also had a foot fetish and he'll just play with my feet, LOL.

Trying to watch Gilmore Girls and blog, but Boomer insists on sitting right next to me.

Gabbana. The princess is relaxing and napping. She is occasionally barking at the television screen. I really think she can understand them and she enjoys watching tv.

4 Ocean for the Ocean

I recently discovered a company called 4Ocean. The company is dedicated to cleaning up the ocean, and they sell bracelets made of 100% recycled materials. "The 4Ocean bracelet is made from 100% recycled materials. The exact material used to make the cord is called RPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate, also known as recycled water bottles) and the beads are made from recycled glass bottles. The 4Ocean charm that is attached to the bracelet is made from stainless steel" (4Ocean). Click here for more info on the bracelet.

I think it's awesome because with every purchase of a bracelet, 4Ocean promises to remove one pound of trash from the ocean. Yes, I know there are always those people (myself included) who think, "Oh, what will that do to help?" But once you get the word out and people become aware of the situation and the cause, it can grow from there. You have to start somewhere. Damage in the ocean is human-caused, and it is only right for us to fix it.

I bought my original royal blue bracelet a couple of weeks ago, and then the shark conservation bracelet just recently (just in time for shark week). As far as I know, there are a few other different colored bracelets--earth day (green), world ocean's day (turquoise), and another with white beads that I am not sure about.

The bracelets cost $20 each, plus shipping, but they also are insured for one year after the purchase date, so if your bracelet gets damaged in anyway, they will replace it for free. :)

Help save our oceans!

FILM ADAPTIONS

I am currently screaming. Internally, of course. It's 1 am and I am supposed to be sleeping. I am screaming because I just found out that To All The Boys I've Loved Before is becoming a movie.

Like I said, I am screaming.

I read the books about two years ago, and I absolutely loved, loved, loved them. I am so happy. I am not sure about how I feel about the cast yet... Jesus from The Fosters as Peter? I never pictured that. I have this love/hate relationship with books that I love turning into movies. Sometimes the movie ruins it, or makes it even better. It makes it better so that I can actually visualize the characters as I read the books, because before anyone is casted, I can only picture the back side of someone's silhouette as the character.

Anyhoo, I am so excited for this movie. I just wish that Han's Summer Series books were being made into a movie, or even a television show--I've been waiting for literally years, since the seventh grade. I just wonder how they will shoot the film...

Hopefully the next couple of days I will be able to post more book reviews, because I will be going on a mini vacation--more like a staycation since I'll be house/pet-sitting for my cousin for almost a week.

Summer Updates..

As always, I have been MIA. I've been working.... barely. But I've been watching Netflix and doing other stuff... also known as nothing, nothing really at all.

Today is my day off of work. Woo. I went to the optometrist's office today to get my eyes checked for new contacts. I cannot believe my eyesight has gotten to be so bad in a matter of just a year! I like to wear Daily's Total One. Those are the pair I am wearing right now. I've worn these before, in high school, but I took a one year hiatus due to funds, but hopefully I can get them this time, so I don't go back to school and get another glasses tan like I did last fall.

The picture is inspired by the one and only, the wonderful--JT. If you are not still obsessed with 20/20, who are you?

I think in a previous post I mention that I have a new obsession with Happy Planners. It's a good and a bad thing. I'll keep my life organized. This past school year I did not use a planner because I suck and I wanted to not keep up with my life, so it led to me being behind on everything. It's probably because I like cute stuff, I used Lily Pulitzer the two years before, but I swore that brand off after my freshman year of college because I told myself that I was going to try to look more adult.

SO, maybe it'll help me get my shit together or maybe not. Here's the bad... it's expensive. This is not a cheap hobby. Buying stickers and supplies for it is expensive. I went a little overboard, but not as overboard as I thought when I joined a group on FB who share the love of Happy Planners.

I will have to do another whole post on the planner, because that is another story...

until then,
D.

Vacation Photos

Okay... I've finally had a little break from my work schedule and I am uploading some pictures from my trip to Myrtle Beach.

The top two photos are from the first night we arrived in MB. It was a long 18 hour drive. We drove from Broken Arrow, Ok through Arkansas passing through my school then through Little Rock, Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, and then we passed through Covington and Conyers where they shoot TVD and TO, then through Columbia, and then finally making it to MB, SC. These photos are from outside of our hotel door. We stayed at the Blue Hotel and it's right on the beach. The rooms are okay... We got a hotel room big enough for 8 people. So, when you first walk in--there are two beds, then you go into the hall way and there is a small kitchen nook, and then a hall way to the bathroom, and then a small living room with a bed that comes down from the wall, and then a futon, and it also included a balcony. The hotel is not like normal hotels where you get into your room from the hallway--as soon as you step off the elevator you are outside and it's more of an outdoor hallway, but it was nice because as soon as we arrived, there were fireworks there to greet us.

This is the strip of beach right outside of the hotel. This is right after all the rain cleared up, and the hot lifeguard was no longer there. (My sisters and I met a hot lifeguard with an incredibly sexy accent.)

This is a picture my sister snapped of me with my brother's boogie board and a snorkeling thing I bought from the store in hopes of finding perfect seashells and starfish--no luck. The only good thing about those goggles was that it covered my nose and when those waves tried to take me under, I wasn't choking up a storm afterwards.
A picture of a wave that I snapped with my phone while on the boogie board--I promptly crashed afterwards. Once you go far enough, you can ride the waves and it's so much more serene, peaceful, and fun. I did go just far enough, as well as my dad, but we saw 47 m down right before this trip and sharks were also spotted a month earlier, and I didn't want to get my leg bitten off. LOL.

The view outside of our balcony.

At Myrtle Beach State Park. I'm waiting for John Tyree...

The Pier at MBState Park.

Cute crab we thought was dead--after snapping this photo we found out our little friend was very much alive.

My older sister and I. Look at my beach hair... actually its the rain + saltwater + frizz = this mess.

There are more pics on my instagram and on my facebook as well.

I should be posting soon about my new obsession that I cannot wait to share.... who am i kidding... I will share now.... HAPPY PLANNERS.

See ya.

As Promised...

So I am finally doing my review on Giffin's Something Borrowed and Blue.

Image result for something borrowed cover

I will not lie, maybe it's because I can relate to Rachel in wanting someone who you can't have, but I rooted for her so badly. The first time I read this book, I was probably fifteen, and then the second time I was eighteen-- and of course I naively thought that the affair that Rachel carried on with Dex was so desirable and that betraying Darcy was no big deal. But after reading it again (being twenty now) I realize just how wrong Rachel was.

Hilary and Ethan (I love him) shed light to Rachel on what a terrible friend Darcy is to her, and Rachel slowly starts to realize this, but she uses that to justify her actions with Dexter. And the teenage me used to crave a guy like Dex, but now that I think about it, I would never want to carry on an affair with my best friend's  future husband.

Related image

I honestly did not think I would enjoy this book from Darcy's point of view. ( I bought this second book the moment i finished the first when i was fifteen, and I could not get myself to read it until recently.) Needless to say, I loved it. Ethan was able to give insight to Darcy on how bad of a friend and person she was. After reading in her point of view, I did see how wrong it was of Rachel to betray her like she did. Regardless-- she was a bad friend, but Rachel did her wrong in the ultimate betrayal. I love how Darcy changes and becomes selfless rather than selfish. I also enjoyed seeing Ethan and her relationship go from bickering friends, to friends and then to loving each other--I was not expecting that to be honest, but it was a wonderful ending. However, it did bother me how Rachel was sorry for hurting her and not for what she did... but whatever.

Bottom line, if there was no second book, I would be on Team Rachel and Dex, but I am definitely more in love with Darcy and Ethan than I am the other pair.

Recent Reads

So this Summer I have challenged myself to read and to re-read as many books as I can. And since I will be on the beach this week, it's perfect for beach reads. (This is a scheduled post.)

Image result for love the one you re with emily giffin
I finished this book this morning... It took me about a week to read because I had to work all the while inbetween reading. Overall, it was an okay book. I love how Giffin always jumps right into the action of her storyline. I am not going to lie, I do like Richard more than I like Ben. I feel like we got to know him a lot better than we did Ben, so naturally, it made me like Richard for her. Maybe because Richard's lifestyle is more appeasing to me and I'm being biased towards the character of Claudia and Ben. I DO LOVE how Ethan is in this book! BTW... @EmilyGiffin, I'm still waiting for Something Blue as a movie so I can watch John Krasinski and Kate Hudson.

UGH. Okay I was honestly torn between Andy and Leo. Maybe because I love a story line like this. The one that got away. I don't know why this book doesn't get good reviews. I loved it!!! This book was by far one of my favorite books by her! SPOILER ALERT: She ends up with Andy.

I think the number one complaint I hear about Giffin's books is that the ending isn't what they wanted. They are not all happy and stuff. I for one, particularly like her endings in the ones I have read so far. It's realistic.

*** I read Something Borrowed Years ago, and I am currently going to read Something Blue on  my vacation that I am currently on, so I will write their reviews on a post together sometime after I finish. ****

Long and Overdue...

So, I recently switched phones.. not sure if I mentioned that before, but here i am saying it again. Therefore, I won't be able to post as much or update on social media as much since I am heading off to the east coast tomorrow after work!

We will be going to Myrtle Beach and then to my cousins graduation party in NC. I am looking forward to going on this trip--it may not be a lavish vacation, but after the crazy school year I had, this is long overdue.

Till then!

Summertime Sadness...

I cannot believe I moved to Oklahoma three years ago! It seems like it was yesterday, but also forever ago all at the same time. But I also grew up here half of the time too, so maybe that's why it feels like that.

My grades this spring semester were absolute shit. It's the lowest semester GPA I've ever seen so far. Since I came home this summer, all I've done is work--which is a good thing since I need to pay off my credit card that I racked up that my mom doesn't know about.... oops!

Next, next weekend we may go to N. Carolina... we will see though... I just want to go to the beach, honestly.

Here are some books that I have read since May:

-Nothing Like You
-Always and Forever, Lara Jean
-Something Borrowed (again)
-Love the One You're With (loved it ;.))
-Baby Proof (in process)
-Milk and Honey
-I wrote this for you
-The Princess Saves Herself in This One

I also bought a ton of books. I'll make a seperate post, hopefully soon and hopefully by the end of the summer.

Hang tight.

Always and Forever, Lara Jean

Image result for lara jean always and forever
This release of this book had very bad timing. I had a research paper due at midnight that night, and I started this book the second it was released east coast time. I even had to buy it on my credit card. And of course, like all of her other books---I finished this one in a matter of hours. Less than 24 if we are being honest.

The series overall was good, but I am not sure if I really like it. Mostly because I think it parallels with her other trilogy---The Summer Series, but I guess Jenny Han just likes the same kind of stuff to happen to a person. The book ended just the way each book ended--LJ and PK get into a fight, and then make up.

I think this book just left me with so many unanswered questions... well just one to be honest. I want to know what ever happened to the letter LJ started to write to Josh again where she said, "Ps I still love you," hence... the title of the next book. He's pretty much disappeared from the series in the second book. It makes me sad. I liked--- loved Josh. I mean, it's whatever, I still love these books-- a little too much if I am honest.

_____________

I cannot wait to write my own book one day... I already have started a few, but then I get busy because of school work and then forget all about it. I've started about 4 different ones, and then I have one more on my mind that I really like.

We will see... we will see..

Well...

Some new things I have started doing....

  •  bullet journaling
  • cut crease lids
  • failing at life
Yeah, that last one you may ask? My grades have SUCKED this semester. I have to say, out of all four semesters, this one has been the hardest.

Finals started Thursday. My first one was linguistics... all I can say is LOL. I made a TWENTY-TWO page study guide, and my classmates looked at me like I was crazy.

Today, I had my history final. All I can say again is LOL. Let's not talk about it. It's not the class, I get the material and understand it all. It's the professor. In comparison to the history class I took last semester where it was over the same material and I earned an A, and this semester and I am barely getting C's on the tests. WHATEVER.

So after my final, I started to pack up my room. Every thing is pretty much packed up and put away except all the things I will need for the next four days. I have a final on Monday, a meeting on Monday that I am skipping, and then my last and most dreaded final... SYSTEMS OF GRAMMAR.

I will need to study my ass off for that.

So at the moment, I am currently doing laundry and waiting for the dryers and trying to keep myself occupied on my last Friday night in Russvegas.

This is from the look out point at Mt. Nebo. To the right is Rville and then Dardenelle.

I am trying to decide how I should arrange my room next semester.... I've moved furniture all afternoon, and I think I like the way i have it now. The bed is against the wall adjacent to the window, and my desk right infront of the windows and my fridge and dresser at the same spot. It gives a lot of space by the right window and by the AC.

This semester.. this year.... this decade... all I can say is... LOL.

Fuck my life.

Life Lately...

As always, I've been busy.

Grades have been meh and I am meeting with my adviser tomorrow to make my schedule for next semester.
I know I have to take american lit, brit lit, film studies, and I'm not sure what to take for my electives.

I rearranged my room this week too. I switched up my bed. I still have not taken any pictures of my room. I just have not had time lately.

I started writing a book last year. And I got however far and lost my momentum. Then I started writing a new book because a great idea came into my head. Then I started reading all my old books and got into my feelings.

I tried not to write a love story. But love is what makes the world go around apparently. So I started a third one, and I got 22 pages done in nearly a day. But some of it needs to be cleaned up.

But then, I read another book and it sparked another light and I started to write again. It would be more like a spin-off to the third book.

Speaking of books...
I recently reread all of The Summer Series, I fell in love with Conrad, again.
And then I read TATBILB and the second book. I am so excited for the last series book that comes out next month.

This summer, I am determined to read as much as I can.

Okay, done with homework for the day... I should be reading my text book, but I am going to lay down in bed and read my pleasure books.

Cheers!

As always...

Midterm grades came out this week... and needless to say, I suck!!!

The only good thing that happened was that I got a better grade than I thought I would make on my linguistics midterm.

I'm taking a pretty heavy course load this semester.

On to the internship I was talking about in an earlier post!
Basically, every week I hold office hours and I go in and read submissions and copy edit stuff. It's pretty easy, but another thing to add to my resume that is blank. Lol.

New computer

Okay, here is the picture of my new computer! So far, it's great! I really like it. It's fast and aesthetically pleasing. I bought it at Walmart for about 389 ish(tax included)... It's an all in one computer too, so it doesn't need those bulky monitors.

Click here  to check out the computer

Internship

So I decided to get my foot in the door for publishing. So I signed up for this internship class. It's only one credit hour class, but I go every week for an hour and read through all this literary work that has been submitted and copy edit it, and give my opinion on it to decide whether or not it should go into the magazine.

I'm excited to see how this goes.

New friends!

As I said in the posts earlier, I got a new computer. It was technically a birthday gift to myself. I also got two new rings for my birthday also. And I recently just got them in the mail, and I love them! I ordered them from Etsy.
I bought this ring from a seller called IndigoandJade. It's a white opal ring, I love it! So far, I've been wearing this ring on my middle left hand finger.

Pictured above, the two rings stacked on the top are rings that I've have for quite some time now. The last one is from Etsy as well, from a seller named BirkaScandinavia. It's a rose quartz.

Chicken Salad

I have been craving a chicken salad sandwich for weeks now. So, I hauled myself to Walmart and bought myself one of those cold rotisserie chickens, mayo, celery, dried cranberries. (I forgot walnuts :( )

As soon as I got back to my dorm, I tore apart that chicken and threw the chicken, mayo, chopped up celery, and dried cranberries into a plastic Tupperware and mixed it all together!

I honestly cannot say how much to add on whichever ingredient... It honestly depends on who likes what. Personally, I do not like too much mayo, I like a lot of cranberries and celery.

First day of class

It's my fourth semester here in Arkansas. Yesterday was my first day of class. I have four classes back to back, one online, and an internship. Whew. That's a lot.

Class was okay, but I'm dreading all the work that is required. But let me say this... If I can get past Advanced Comp and Math, I think I'l be okay...

I'm just dreading British Lit next spring semester... I'll be taking that with the same professor who told me I sucked. UGH KILL ME.

On the bright side of this week.... I am broke!! I bought a new computer, which I am using now. But it's okay, I really needed a new one. Laptops are great, but only last so long...

The white Macbook I had started to lag, even though I love it, I'll still use it, but it's just not fast enough for school for me.

And then my pink one is just too tiny. I use that for in class stuff and I have the desktop here in my dorm...

The  best part about me being broke is that it will force me to eat on campus, aka starve because nothing is good, therefore I have no money to buy food = skinny!

AHHHHHHHHHHH, I'll post pics soon.

Happy birthday to me.

As of today, I am officially an adult. I am no longer a teenager, I cannot believe that I am 30!! I remember being ten and thinking this day would never come.

I am not much one for birthday parties any more. As I grew up I almost dread my birthday nowadays. Today I went to my sisters head start school where she teaches and volunteered there. I've been going there on my days off work while I've been home for Christmas break.  I'll post about that soon.

But after that, I went out to eat with my aunts (moms sis & dad's sis), my uncle (dad's bro), and my cousin and her husband. And of course my family too.

I received a ton of birthday wishes, and I thanked them all. But as anyone's birthday comes, I feel no different than I did yesterday. I hope this year will be a good one.

I should make a post about what I've learned throughout my teenage years soon... maybe tomorrow.

my last day as a teenager...

Today is the last day of me being a teenager. Yes, that is right, I am sitting on the edge of nineteen. I'd have to say, each year of my life continues to get worse. But I have to say, my teenage years were well spent.

As of the moment my blog is under construction... since it's a brand new year, I've decided to give my blog an extreme makeover. Yes, as much as I loved my old formatting, things are changing! Stay tuned...

It's 2017, and I'm still the same me...

Meaning that I am inconsistent with this blog. Once I get back to school, I will give an update on life since I last posted (Which was Leo DiCaprio's bday)

I'm off for now.... I have work tomorrow morning...
